NMDSI Named Innovation Quotient Award Winner

The Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute (NMDSI) has been selected as a winner of the BizTimes Milwaukee's 2019 Innovation Quotient Award for the partnership between Northwestern Mutual, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette University.

Innovation Quotient Award winners are companies who develop innovative products or services, or those with notably unique and innovative processes, operational structures and/or market strategies. The unique partnership between industry and academia sets the NMDSI apart from other data science institutions and programs and was a key factor in winning an Innovation Quotient Award. By partnering with not one, but two, nationally-recognized universities, each organization brings a different perspective on the need for data science education and development and are taking concrete steps to build and retain technology talent, so the region remains economically competitive.

"The NMDSI is honored to receive the Innovation Quotient Award from BizTimes Milwaukee," said Keri McConnell, Senior Director of the NMDSI. "This partnership is one of a kind and demonstrates our joint commitment to advancing Milwaukee as a hub for technology, research, business and talent development. We appreciate the recognition this award provides and the support of the community as we work to advance Milwaukee's technology ecosystem."
